The Centre

The Centre

Yongergnow – Australian Malleefowl Centre is a multipurpose facility dedicated to the Malleefowl conservation and local community development.

The Centre comprehends 5 hectares of native bush and two vermin-proof aviaries. Visitors can also access our multi-media interpretive display to learn about conservation and local history.

Our retail area offers Ongerup and Malleefowl souvenirs, wildflower and bird publications and much more!

Yongergnow’s bush walk trail has recently been upgraded and interesting native plants along it have been labelled by local and regional wildflower enthusiasts. Walk Trail Two invites to investigate the diversity of our flora, and offers good birding in season. The most common birds around Yongergnow are Purple-gaped Honeyeaters, which feed on the flowers of the moort trees.

Yongergnow’s art gallery houses temporary display of Noongar art.
The gallery/theatrette is available for hire for functions and meetings.
