Yongergnow’s world class multi-media interpretive display is an introduction to the natural history of the mallee, to farming in the mallee, conservation of the mallee and of course the unique Malleefowl. The children’s play corner invites our younger visitors to explore the dangers a hatching Malleefowl chick may face.
Our retail area offers Ongerup and Malleefowl souvenirs, wildflower and bird publications and much more!
Yongergnow’s bush walk trail has recently been upgraded and interesting native plants along it have been labelled by local and regional wildflower enthusiasts. Walk Trail Two invites to investigate the diversity of our flora, and offers good birding in season. The most common birds around Yongergnow are Purple-gaped Honeyeaters, which feed on the flowers of the moort trees.
Yongergnow’s art gallery currently houses a display of malleefowl art. The gallery/theatrette is available for hire for functions and meetings.
